Evaluation of Technical Quality

The evaluation criteria for this CTI is based on the proof-of-concept meeting the requirements specified in the tasking OR by demonstrating a subset of the requirements with a feasible plan to meet all requirements in a future proof-of-concept or prototype.

Task

Identify and procure (3) Acoustic Release Bottom Units for government test and evaluation.

Requirements include

Two units (of the same make/model to interact with the same surface unit):

  • 2 year operational time minimum
  • Release load of 350 kg
  • Maximum ocean depth of 3,500
  • Meters or greater
  • Alkaline batteries
  • User replaceable battery
  • Acoustic comms to deck unit to indicate tilted angle, upright condition and release confirmation

One Unit:

  • Lightweight/smaller diameter for small boat deployments
  • Maximum ocean depth of 3,500 Meters or greater
  • Maximum release load of 250 kg
  • Lift load at least 750 kg
  • The battery life >1 year
  • Alkaline batteries
  • User replaceable battery
  • Acoustic comms to deck unit to indicate tilted angle, upright condition and release confirmation

Identify potential solutions and associated vendors that can address this need. Coordinate calls to review costs, timetable and logistics.
