TECH SCOUTING:
Goal:
Identify technologies that will minimize maintenance and labor cost by providing a non-destructive method for detecting undercoat corrosion on metal substrates.
Requirements:
- Detect corrosion, deterioration, and damage on metal substrates that cannot be seen by visual inspection
- Demonstrate the ability to “see through” paint and specialized surface coatings to detect gouges, corrosion products, and water intrusion
- Be non-destructive
Technical Considerations:
- 12-20 MILS of high solid or epoxy paint
- Specialized surface coatings are approximately 3 inches
