Evaluation of Technical Quality
The evaluation criteria for this CTI is based on the proof-of-concept meeting the requirements specified in the tasking OR by demonstrating a subset of the requirements with a feasible plan to meet all requirements in a future proof-of-concept or prototype.
TasK
Market research to identify and procure self-contained passive acoustic recording units for test and evaluation. Identify (4) recorders that are diver-deployable to be utilized for shallow water operations. Also identify (4) recorders rated for deep water are to be utilized for environmental characterization, and deep-water tracking and detection.
Requirements include
(4) units – Deep water depth:
- Sampling rates of 48, 96, 250, 300 k-samples per second
- Storage capacity of at least 1 TB, SD or microSD card removable storage preferred
- Hydrophone: HTI96-min, Ocean Noise monitoring noise floor -170 or -180 dBV/uPa
- Adjustable gain spanning -4dB to +18 dB
- Maximum ocean depth of 3,000 Meters or greater
- Alkaline batteries
- User replaceable battery
- Acoustic comms to deck unit to indicate tilted angle, upright condition and release confirmation.
(4) Units – Shallow Water depth:
- Sampling rates of 48, 96, 250, 300 k-samples per second
- Storage capacity of at least 1 TB, SD or microSD card removable storage preferred
- Hydrophone: HTI96-min, Ocean Noise monitoring noise floor -170 or -180 dBV/uPa
- Adjustable gain spanning -4dB to +18 dB
- Recording time of 12 months or more on a duty cycle (i.e. recording 10 minutes every hour)
- Maximum ocean depth of 300 Meters or greater
- In air weight 10lbs or less (handling on small vessels)
- In seawater weight 4 lbs negative to 8 lbs positive (for diver deployability)
- Alkaline batteries
- User replaceable battery
